Annotation

The 7-semester Bachelor's degree course qualifies students to develop and plan smart building technology concepts. Building on the teaching of engineering and mathematical-scientific fundamentals from the fields of civil engineering, mechanical engineering, process and environmental engineering as well as electrical engineering and computer science, three specialisations are offered: •\tTechnical building concepts (Specialisation in the development, planning and coordination of technical building concepts across all trades) •\tHeating, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Technology (specialising in the planning of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems as well as media supply and disposal) •\tBuilding Automation (Specialisation in the development of concepts for smart electrical power supply, building automation and building monitoring) The practical application of the acquired technical and methodological knowledge to specific engineering problems represents a special focus of the training and takes place in numerous laboratory practicals, through project work as well as in a practical semester. Partial sections of the course can be completed at foreign partner universities. Technical building planners develop smart solutions in the fields of building air conditioning, electrical energy supply, sanitary engineering and intelligent building automation, among others, in order to transform a building shell into a functional, user-friendly and needs-oriented living or working space. They always design concepts for modern technical building equipment with a holistic view that incorporates the demands of inclusion, environmental protection and sustainability into the planning. In this way, an interdisciplinary team develops technical concepts that ensure the compatibility of human demands for comfort and safety with the efficient, sustainable and economic use of resources to protect nature and the environment. The demand for skilled workers in engineering and architectural offices, in construction companies as well as in public administrations is enormously high throughout Germany and in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In view of the future challenges on an ecological, economic and social level, technical building planning is a future-oriented field with excellent, crisis-proof career prospects.
