The Teaching Qualification for Special Education can be taken up at the University of Regensburg for the first time in the winter semester 2021/22! The degree course for the Teaching Qualification for Special Education comprises a total of 270 credit points, including an in-depth degree course of special needs education (scope: 90 credit points, 9 mandatory modules) and a qualifying degree in special education (scope: 30 credit points, 3 mandatory modules). At the University of Regensburg, the following three special education subjects are offered: Pedagogy in the case of mental retardation, pedagogy in the special educational focus learning and pedagogy in the case of behavioural disorders The degree course for the Teaching Qualification for Special Needs Education also includes the study of primary school didactics or the didactics of a secondary school subject group (the didactics subject "Natural Science and Technology" can be chosen as a special course of study at the University of Regensburg) and - as in all types of schools - an educational study content.
