Annotation
Students who have the aim of attaining the teaching qualification for grammar schools complete their studies in a tiered course structure. Firstly, the dual Bachelor's degree course at the Universität Osnabrück must be completed or proof provided of an equivalent degree obtained at another university in the appropriate subject, or in a closely related subject with a corresponding teacher-training specialisation. The Master's degree course "Teaching Qualification (grammar school-level)", which is oriented towards the professional field of schools, builds onto this; in general, a new application is required. A Master's degree is the prerequisite for admission to postgraduate civil service. In the Teaching Qualification degree course, Sport is studied in combination with the second subject chosen in the Bachelor's course; for this there are two possible alternatives: Either the core subjects selected in the Bachelor's degree course are studied with the same CP total (variant: core subject/core subject) or, if Sport was chosen as a minor subject in the Bachelor's degree course, then the previous main subject and Sport are also studied in the Master's degree course with a different CP total (variant: major subject/minor subject); the respective course components of the Bachelor's degree phase are inverted in the Master's phase, however. Currently, in addition to Sport, a choice can essentially be made between the following teaching subjects: Biology, Chemistry, German, English, Geography, Protestant Religion, French,History, Computer Science, Catholic Religion, Art, Latin, Mathematics, Music, Physics and Spanish. Here, the second teaching subject chosen alongside Sport must be German, English, French, Latin, Mathematics, Music or Spanish. As part of the Master's supplementary course "Complementary Subject for the Teaching Qualification for Grammar Schools" a third teaching subject can be studied\; in addition to Sport and the second chosen teaching subject, all of the subjects mentioned above and Italian can be studied. In addition to the two teaching subjects, the teacher training core curriculum (Kerncurriculum Lehrerbildung, KCL) is mandatory. As part of this, skills in educational science as well as subject-related didactics are taught. A basic subject placement in one of the teaching subjects and a supplementary subject placement in the other teaching subject must be completed. The Master's thesis can be written in one of the two teaching subjects, in one of the subject-related didactics or, under certain circumstances, as part of the KCL. If the subject chosen alongside Sport is a modern foreign language, during registration for the Master's degree examination, proof of a three-month course-relevant stay abroad in a country in which this language is the official language must be provided.
