Annotation
The Bachelor's degree course in Mathematics provides solid basic training in Applied and Pure Mathematics. In the first semesters, the courses are accompanied intensively by tutorials and seminars. Work groups with a strong research focus in Algebra/Discrete Mathematics, Applied Algebra and Data Analysis, Applied Analysis, Geometry/Topology and Stochastics offer students attractive opportunities to deepen their knowledge in a field of Mathematics in the second half of the course. The examination regulations do not stipulate a compulsory stay abroad. It is recommended that students carry out a study phase at a foreign partner university. An application subject can be chosen from the fields of Applied Systems Science, Business Administration, Cognitive Science, Geocomputing, Computer Science, Physics or International Economics. The Bachelor's degree qualifies students to enter a profession and for admission to a subject-related Master's course, including the Master's degree in Mathematics and, with the appropriate course planning, fundamentally for the Master's courses in Cognitive Science, Informatics and Environmental Systems and Resource Management at the Universität Osnabrück.
