Annotation
The Master's programme "Sustainable Development" is subject to an aptitude assessment procedure, see: https://www.uni-marburg.de/de/studium/studienangebot/master/sustainable-development-msc/efv-sustainable-development In the "Sustainable Development" Master's programme, acquire the basic factual knowledge of human-environmental relations and acquire a deeper conceptual and methodological understanding of the application of geographical regional analyses in complex spatial contexts. In doing so, address questions about the effects of climate change on various social dimensions (such as poverty, health and education) as well as on plant-environmental relationships, organismic distribution patterns or ecosystem services. The aim is to be able to analyse these and to further develop interventions to combat them. The "Sustainable Development" Master's degree course is a research-oriented, interdisciplinary and internationally orientated degree course that systematically prepares students for a career with high analytical demands or for a further academic career. Graduates are qualified for demanding jobs in ministries and authorities, research institutes, international organisations, business and political consulting, media as well as for management positions in the private sector. Graduates of the degree course are able to explain and analyse the causes, effects and framework conditions of change processes, to critically classify explanatory models and guiding principles of sustainable development, and to develop their own concepts for the design of these. They can present the results of their analyses both orally and in writing in a competent and target group-oriented manner and are able to contribute to professional discussions.
