Annotation

The study of the subject Protestant Religion in the degree programme Teacher qualification at the level of grammar schools is oriented towards the requirements of the practice of Religious teaching (protestant) at grammar schools. The programme will impart the necessary subject-specific and didactic basics necessary for the practice of the teaching profession at grammar schools and allow for first experiences in school teaching practice under academic guidance. On the basis of the skills acquired, i.e. knowledge, qualifications and attitudes in the subject areas of Old and New Testament, church history, systematic theology, social ethics, history of religion and religious education studies, students should be enabled to carry out academic work and to exercise the teaching profession in a socially responsible manner. Some of the main objectives of a university education in the subject area of Protestant Religion include: - Formulating basic skills (being able to combine general knowledge with scientific-didactic methodology)\; - Imparting methodological competences for transfer to other learning fields (exemplary learning, transfer services)\; - Development of religious language and critical faculties\; - Integration of basic knowledge and exemplarity\; - Integration of basic skills with personality development\; - Integration of internal and interdisciplinary courses. In dealing with theological content and forms of religious practice in the past and present, each module helps to acquire partial competences that enable the analysis and design of religious communication processes in different social contexts. Particular attention is paid to questions of religious upbringing, education and socialisation in the family, school, community and other places of learning (e.g. adult education in academies, media work of the regional churches).
