Annotation

The study of the subject Physics in the Teaching Qualification for Grammar Schools degree course is oriented towards the requirements of teaching Physics at grammar schools in practice. The programme teaches the subject-specific (technical and experimental) and didactic basics and specialities of the subject of Physics necessary for practising the teaching profession at grammar schools and allows students to acquire their first experience in school teaching under academic guidance. Students are to be qualified on the basis of the acquired competences, i.e., knowledge, qualifications and attitudes, for academic work and socially responsible practice of the teaching profession. The university education aims to prepare future teachers to critically examine the knowledge they have acquired, to apply the media and methods suitable for teaching the subject of Physics and to perform their future role as multipliers of physical knowledge in our society in a responsible and reflective way. The subject of Physics takes into account both the special branch of science Physics, with its working methods and various fields, as well as the current didactic theories on the teaching of Physics and the school-related training and testing in practice. Thematically, this is on the one hand "Physics" and thus the following subject areas: mechanics, electricity theory, thermodynamics, optics and modern physics. On the other hand, the course covers "subject-related didactics", with components such as school-relevant experiments, lesson design in didactic and methodological terms and the preparation of physical content for the school.
