Annotation
In the Master's programme 'Motology and Psychomotorics', you specialise in the accompaniment of people who support you holistically through professional approaches about body and corporeality, perception, movement and play. During your studies, you will be enabled to develop, apply, reflect on and evaluate forms of intervention and approaches in a motological-psychomotor tradition, scientifically and conceptually. In later practice, these will be used by motologists as pedagogically promoting or therapeutic and healing concepts, which are represented in a variety of institutions, for example under the generic term “psychomotor”. Students reflect on and deepen theory / practice-based and scientific knowledge through application-oriented approaches in dealing with their own experience, which is understood as an essential part of the development of professional working postures. This enables them to acquire personal, social and professional skills for work in development and health promotion, in educational institutions and in therapeutic contexts. They are prepared for encounters and interventions across the entire age range, for example in kindergartens, schools, child and youth welfare facilities, in psychiatric and psychosomatic clinics, in geriatric care facilities, health centres, private practices, in tertiary educational institutions and in freelance work. A career in teaching and research, for example through a subsequent doctorate (Dr. phil.) in the field of motology and psychomotor skills, is possible. The interdisciplinarity of the course, the taking up of neighbouring specialist discourses, regional and international networking as well as the use of a wide range of module-integrated modules offered by the Philipps University in Marburg also enable students to develop not only individually but also socially and processes against the background of motology and to question, shape and initiate psychomotor skills.
