Computer Visualistics is an interdisciplinary degree programme that is offered in Germany only at Magdeburg and Koblenz. It deals with how to create and analyse images with the help of the computer. The Computer Visualistics degree programme is aimed in particular at students with broad interdisciplinary interests: The degree programme provides in-depth specialist knowledge in the core areas of computer science, such as databases, programming, mathematics and software engineering. It also allows students to gain special knowledge in the field of image-related subfields of computer science such as computer graphics, image processing or algorithmic geometry and acquire basic knowledge in humanities subjects that are essential for the development of computer systems, e.g. psychology of perception or educational science. Students are empowered to use knowledge of computer science to solve tasks in fields of application such as medicine or construction and design.
