Annotation
The perception of management tasks is in the modern understanding anything but "pure gut feeling". Instead, prospective managers must fulfil their future management role on the basis of scientific knowledge and application principles. The MBA provides students with a broad education in General Management, but at the same time enables individual specialisation in specialist topics through the selectable focus areas "Marketing & Sales", "Innovation & Entrepreneurship" and "Digital Business". The key competencies include, for example, comprehending a company holistically, preparing strategic decisions, implementing projects and assessing the effect of measures taken. In the MBA in General Management, which is carried out at the UNIKIMS, the Management School of the University of Kassel, emphasis is placed in each phase on the practical relevance, i.e. on the direct professional applicability of the content conveyed. The career-integrated Master's degree programme in General Management, which starts in the winter semester, is designed for five semesters and is subject to a fee. Students typically have at least a first certificate of academic degree and want to expand their knowledge or acquire completely new skills. In order to safeguard the legitimate interests of students already working in a demanding professional environment, the continuing education programme combines university level with classroom phases only on weekends, online conferences and self-study from the home desk. Our e-learning tools also offer innovative opportunities for exchange with lecturers and other students and, in combination with individual support, create a learning environment that is geared towards efficient learning. The degree course is composed of 12 modules plus three focus modules, which are dedicated to theoretical and methodological training in the subject area, but also to the further development of social skills. The fifth semester is spent writing the Master's thesis. On successful completion of the degree course, the University of Kassel awards the academic degree of "Master of Business Administration", which entitles students to a doctorate. An MBA is the highest academic management qualification, it is recognised worldwide and opens up excellent career prospects. Continuing education courses are designed as career-integrated degree courses. Formal enrolment for part-time studies is not possible in this degree course in accordance with the Hessian Enrolment Ordinance.
