Target group

The Master of Public Policy (MPP) is aimed at young academics and professionals seeking a career in public service, including government agencies, international organisations and the non-profit sector. The MPP programme equips future decision-makers with the knowledge and practical skills they need to promote the public interest and make informed policy decisions.

Annotation

The Brandt School's Master of Public Policy (MPP) is a two-year interdisciplinary English-language degree programme. Based on political science, economics, sociology, public administration and law, the MPP curriculum establishes the necessary skills and knowledge bases for professional policy analysts. The curriculum includes courses in political and economic analysis, statistics, public administration, management and ethics. During the coursework, research and practice, students develop an understanding of policy processes and the institutions and actors involved in this process. The MPP is a practice-oriented continuing education course with a standard period of study of four semesters, which corresponds to 120 ECTS credits. The academic degree corresponds to the second study cycle/Level 7 according to the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).

Completed academic degree comprising at least 6 semesters or achievement of the required aptitude professionally or in some other way; above-average performance in degree course and/or work; analytical talent and strong interest in political problems and a leading position as well as practical experience in a corresponding professional field; at least one year of professional training in a relevant area of public policy. Very good knowledge of the spoken and written English language.
