Acoustics / Sound Insulation, Hygrothermal Building Physics
Annotation
The task of a building physicist is primarily to design a building in such a way that, on the one hand, it is protected despite constantly changing environmental influences and, on the other hand, it is sufficient for the well-being of humans. Specifically, building physicists deal with the topics of heat and moisture protection, sound insulation and acoustics as well as energy technology and plant engineering. A building physicist’s area of work is not limited to buildings, but can be found wherever physical processes play a role. Examples include the planning of soundproofing measures on roads or tracks, the analysis and development of building materials with special thermal or acoustic properties and developments in the automotive industry up to and including the sound design of engines.
