It is recommended to commence studies in the winter semester. The University Mainz offers the Bachelor's degree course starting in the fifth subject-related semester or the Master of Education exclusively for Teaching Qualification (Grammar Schools). The teaching qualification subject Geography can only be studied in combination with the subject French/Lettres modernes in the German-French degree course. Admission requirements
A prerequisite for admission is proof of French language proficiency through a five-year school education with at least a grade of sufficient or 5 points or through a certificate of advanced knowledge of the French language at the level of the European frame of reference B2, which can be obtained by a language test or by the Diplôme d 'Etudes en Langue Française (DELF B2). Proof of French language skills also applies by submitting a higher education entrance qualification that has been completed at a French-speaking school or an Abi-Bac (simultaneous acquisition of the general higher education entrance qualification [Abitur] and the French Baccalauréat [Bac]) (for further requirements, see the examination regulations at www.uni-mainz.de/studlehr/ordnungen). The teaching qualification subject Geography can only be studied in combination with the subject French/Lettres modernes in the German-French degree course.
