Qualification for the independent performance of tasks in various police task areas in the 1st entry level of career group 2 (formerly executive service). The degree is divided into three study phases with a 12-month basic study period in the 1st year, a 6-month extension studies and two 3-month internships in the individual police service in the 2nd year, and a 12-month specialized course in operations, investigations, and traffic and transport.

Admission requirements

Training within the administration. No direct application at the higher education institution. Multi-stage selection procedure\; Enrolment in the Law Enforcement Service is ‘regionalised’ in Lower Saxony. Although you apply to a central office, the Police Academy, for a place, you are enrolled according to where you will later serve. This means both that you are required to state in your application which area of Lower Saxony you later wish to serve in\; as well as that you can and must expect to be transferred to the riot police after graduation and a period of service in this field.
