Admission restrictions, see admission regulations The degree course option 'Islamic Middle East' requires very good knowledge (reading skills C1) of High Arabic, Turkish / Ottoman or New Persian. The degree course option 'Jewish Middle East' requires a very good knowledge of modern Hebrew (reading skills C1).

For the first-degree courses and consecutive Master's degree programmes at the Universität Heidelberg no general tuition fees are charged. For international students from countries outside the European Union (EU) and outside the European Economic Area (EEA), tuition fees of 1,500 euros per semester are charged at all universities in Baden-Württemberg.
