Admission requirements

Admission to the degree course in Midwifery is open to anyone who can demonstrate pursuant to Section 49 of the German Higher Education Act (HG), the general higher education entrance qualification, the subject-specific higher education entrance qualification or successfully completed training as health and nursing caregiver (or comparable) and subsequent professional experience of at least three years, a basic health suitability for the vocational training, an extended police certificate of good conduct (a request to apply for this will be sent to you along with the study contract) and an employment contract with a cooperating hospital. The Fliedner University of Applied Sciences can provide support in searching for a suitable practice location. As a higher education institution, we additionally expect a four-week obstetric pre-study work placement (no older than 24 months) in a clinical/non-clinical setting.
