Annotation

The graduates of the part-time Master's programme "Clinical Optometry", have a complex area of application that represents an excellent interface between people, medicine and technology, both in practical optics / optometry and health services as well as in research and development. This enables them to recognise, analyse and adequately supply visual disorders on a scientific level. This includes optical and optometric as well as biological and clinical-medical knowledge and techniques to investigate visual disorders and achieve the best possible vision. With the postgraduate and part-time Master's degree “Clinical Optometry”, you tap into other professional fields of application beyond the traditional optics trade, such as: specialised optician shops / optometry practices / institutes, contact lens institutes, ophthalmological facilities (ophthalmic practices and eye clinics) or institutions for the rehabilitation of the visually impaired. You will be able to apply comprehensive optometric studies using knowledge and techniques for the visual system and its measurement in a practical and targeted manner. The scientific training during your studies and the creation of a Master's thesis also enable you to work at a research institute. By imparting skills in business administration and project management, management positions in specialist shops, branches and companies in optics / optometry and the optical industry, for example in marketing or in research and development, can be well filled. With the "Master of Science" degree, you also acquire an internationally recognised degree and thus have the opportunity to work abroad. And if you would like to continue studying, there is the option of starting a doctorate based on this.
