Annotation
The master's program in sports psychology at the BSP qualifies graduates for a professionally sound consulting activity in the field of competitive sports. At the same time, it creates the basis for equally sound consulting activities in the economy. More than ever before, achieving excellence plays a key role in society today. This applies to competitive sports as well as to the entire field of business management. The work of a sports psychologist in competitive sports is accordingly varied and interesting. Among other things, it supports the optimisation of the performance of individuals and groups through intensive coaching processes or the understanding and control of group-dynamic processes. It contributes to increasing the motivation and improvement of communication as well as mental health within the service operation. Acquisition of technical and practical skills The master's program in sports psychology at BSP imparts extensive competences at the connecting points of psychology, sports science and economics, which are needed for scientifically sound consultations for athletes, trainers, managers and clubs. This includes in-depth psychological knowledge of coaching, team leadership and organisational development, as well as psychological training management, diagnostics, mental training, crisis management and the psychological analysis of games. In order to be able to work successfully in competitive sport, the development of one's own personality as well as supervised experiences with practice are decisive in addition to professional training. In this respect, in training as a sports psychologist, we attach particular importance to the acquisition of practice-oriented competences, for example through instruction with professional practitioners or independent consulting for individuals or teams in competitive sports. Through practical experience with or at our cooperation partners (e.g. ALBA Berlin, 1. FC Union Berlin, Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 Berlin), you will have the opportunity to have supervised experiences and contacts in practice. In addition, in the third semester, you will complete a 16-week project course in Germany or abroad.
