The course is conducted as a cooperative degree course of the Braunschweig University of Art (HBK Braunschweig) and the Leibniz University of Hanover, the University of Music, Drama and Media Hanover, the Braunschweig Technical University and the University of Hildesheim. Applications are to be submitted to the Braunschweig University of Art. Enrolment is at the Braunschweig University of Art or the Leibniz University of Hanover.

A first degree (usually a B.A.) in two subjects, in which studies may be continued, is required. When combining subjects, the regulations of the Lower Saxony teacher training must be observed.
