In this modular bachelor's degree course, our students not only gain the necessary knowledge about practical computer science and programming: They also become experts in managing complex software projects for a wide range of industries and sectors. In the course of your degree at AKAD, you will sharpen your skills and perspectives both professionally and methodically. You will acquire important qualifications in software development and software enhancement. At the same time, you will significantly expand your skills portfolio in the area of communication and language competence. Thus, you will learn to move safely in a heterogeneous IT landscape, even in complex software projects. In order to be able to enrol in the Software Engineering (B. Eng.) programme, you need a general higher education entrance qualification, a subject-related higher education entrance qualification or a higher education entrance qualification (or a comparable higher education entrance qualification pursuant to the Baden-Württemberg Higher Education Act). For example, professional school qualification or HWK and IHK further education in combination with a counselling interview also entitle students to a course of study. We also recommend a sound knowledge of mathematics at the level of the higher education entrance qualification and knowledge of English at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The recommended previous knowledge can be acquired during the preparatory course.
