Studierende, die Interesse und Lust haben, sich in einem offenen und engagierten Lehr- und Forschungsumfeld gemeinsam mit Kommiliton*innen und Lehrerenden mit spannenden Fragen aus unterschiedlichsten Gebieten der Sprachwissenschaft auseinanderzusetzen, individuelle Fragestellungen zu entwickeln und diese theoretisch und methodisch fundiert eigenständig umzusetzen; Studierende, die Interesse an der deutschen Sprache an sich, am Erwerb und Wandel von Sprache, an sprachlicher Vielfalt und an Sprache als wichtigstem Kommunikationsmedium haben.

Admission requirements

Für den Studiengang wird ein Bachelorabschluss oder ein vergleichbarer Abschluss mit mindestens 72 Leistungspunkten aus der Germanistik oder der allgemeinen und vergleichenden Sprachwissenschaft benötigt. Liegen weniger als 72, aber mindestens 40 Punkte vor, so können die fehlenden Leistungen im ersten Studienjahr nachgeholt werden.

    Those who have obtained their higher education entrance qualification abroad should have their certificates recognised early on via the Student Services (https://www.studium.uni-mainz.de/anerkennung). The application should be submitted six to eight weeks before the respective application deadline, as the certificate of recognition must be attached to the application. Application deadline for degree courses subject to an aptitude test is 15.01. – please note the possibly earlier registration deadlines for the aptitude test.
