Annotation
Civil engineers are responsible for ensuring that impressive high-rise buildings and wide-ranging bridges become safe buildings. As structural engineers, they work hand in hand with architects in construction companies and authorities, where they are not only responsible for the timely, cost- and quality-oriented execution of construction projects, but also for the economic operation of buildings. They take care of the expansion and maintenance of the infrastructure and the protection of natural resources in equal measure. Civil engineers are responsible for the planning, execution and operation of facilities for the protection of the environment. This involves issues such as the supply of the population with drinking water and the purification of waste water. Other tasks include protection against floods and the care of natural waters. Transport is also a field of application for graduates.
