Annotation

The Bachelor's degree in Education and Teaching is aimed at students interested in a career in teaching at German lower secondary schools. The Bachelor's degree course qualifies students to enter a profession. Professional qualification, particularly for activities within the professional fields of education associated with school and non-school education in the pre-school, primary and secondary I sectors, is based on the acquisition of well-founded academic skills related to French, the respective combination subject and to Educational Sciences. The study programme is divided into two teaching subjects, whereby in the case of the later career goal of teaching at German lower secondary schools, French must be studied as one of the subjects, unless German, English, Art, Mathematics, Music or Physics is studied as an alternative. The following subjects can be combined with French: Biology, German, English, Protestant Religion, History, Islamic Religion, Catholic Religion, Art, Mathematics, Music, Physics, Sport or Textile Design. The study programme with the core curriculum (KCL-BEU) also includes an inter-disciplinary professional qualification area that must be completed. The course of study involves two placements of at least nine weeks in total.
