Major subject in combination Bachelor's degree course - only possible in combination with one or two minor subjects Standard period of study: 6 or 8 semesters (depending on combination) Further information on the structure of the combination Bachelor's degree course can be found here: https://www.uni-marburg.de/de/studium/studieninteressierte/studienmoeglichkeiten/kombibachelor How do people talk about climate, sustainability, war or disease? What everyday strategies do they choose to cope with these and other current problems? How do different religions in the world live together? What ideas of nature, communication or power do South American peoples have and what theories and methods do we use to understand them? In the main subject of Critical Cultural and Religious Research, you are allowed to be irritated by human behaviour in groups; you are invited to get to know foreign perspectives and contexts and thus break down prejudices. For this purpose, you will be taught fundamental specialist knowledge from the three disciplines of Empirical Cultural Studies, Religious Studies and Social and Cultural Anthropology. The ability to conduct independent scientific work, including the corresponding methods, is also part of this degree subject. An integral part of the degree course is the MarSkills programme, in which you acquire attractive and future-oriented key skills (see https://www.uni-marburg.de/de/fb09/igs/arbeitsgruppen/sprechwissenschaft/marskills/was-ist-marskills).
