Target group

The target group for the MSc Psychology with a focus on Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy are excellent graduates of a BSc Psychology or an equivalent degree course that meets the specific requirements and rules of professional conduct of the Psychotherapists Act (PsychThG) in conjunction with the associated medical practice regulations (PsychThApprO) and thus enables admission to the state examination and a licence to practice. Prospective students have a pronounced interest in clinical psychology and psychotherapy as well as highly developed social skills, the ability to understand methods of scientific work and skills for reflecting on these methods in practice.

Annotation

Students acquire well-founded, practical skills in the fields of clinical psychology and psychotherapy as well as scientific knowledge and knowledge of research methods. The degree course meets the requirements of the Licensing Regulations for Psychotherapists (PsychThApprO) and teaches the specified content to the required extent. Upon successful completion, the Master's degree course provides for a state examination with a “Licence to Practise Psychotherapy”. Start of the degree programme: winter semester 2023/24.

1. An academic degree with the grade of 2.5 or better in a Bachelor's degree course of at least three years from a university or an equivalent institution of higher education in the subject of Psychology or an equivalent subject. The structure and content of the degree course must comply with the requirements of Bachelor's degree courses in accordance with Section 9 of the Psychotherapists Act (PsychThG). 2. Participation as a test subject in psychological studies amounting to at least 20 hours.
