Target group
Mechanical engineering is one of the most important sectors for the technology location Germany. Innovation and new technologies in production and manufacture are the driving success factors. There will continue to be a great demand for engineers who systematically design innovative products, develop them methodically and bring them to production maturity within the shortest possible timeframe. This is precisely where the Master's in Mechanical Engineering comes in. In addition to broadening and consolidating knowledge in the scientific-mathematical and engineering fundamentals, the Master's programme in Mechanical Engineering teaches you in particular the required knowledge of methods, processes and procedures in the context of the product development process. You will gain in-depth knowledge of the procedures for product manufacturing and the processes in production and manufacture, which are crucial for the successful conversion of a product idea into a real product. Essential elements here are also methods and procedures of quality management, which accompany the process of product development and significantly contribute to sustainable market success. Interdisciplinary know-how in international project management prepares you for the requirements of the globally oriented mechanical engineering market. The compulsory elective modules offered allow you to set individual priorities with regard to your existing or future desired career options. As a graduate of the Mechanical Engineering Master's degree programme, you possess both engineering and economic leadership and communication skills that will give you access to higher skilled jobs in industry, but also in commerce, services and public service. With this Master of Engineering you will have the best prospects in the growth industry of mechanical engineering!
Admission requirements
This course of study is aimed at all graduates of an engineering or natural science first degree course with at least 6 semesters of regular study time. Graduates of a 7-semester mechanical engineering degree go directly into the 3-semester Master's programme. In all other cases, a homogenisation phase serves to make up missing previous knowledge. The examination committee decides on admission and crediting of previous achievements. A command of English is required for this course of study.
