The part-time Master's degree Business Chemistry (M.Sc.) prepares you to take on management and leadership tasks in the chemical-pharmaceutical industry. With your specialised knowledge of chemistry, coupled with business management expertise, you can now make important decisions for your company in terms of market strategy. With us you will learn to work independently, to take responsibility and to communicate convincingly. With the Master's degree in Economic Chemistry (M.Sc.) you can take on new areas of responsibility in your company - combined with personnel responsibility - or even become active as an entrepreneur yourself. Companies in the chemical-pharmaceutical industry have a high demand for graduates of the course - in very different areas. These include product development, project management, supply chain management, sales, innovation management, quality management, marketing, regulatory affairs and consulting services.
Admission requirements
Admission to the degree in Business Chemistry (MSc) requires a completed Diplom or Bachelor of Science with 180 ECTS, generally in the subjects of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Business Chemistry or Food Chemistry (uni, UAS or TU-level) with an average grade of at least 2.5 (ECTS grade of 'C'). Proof is also required of the required minimum level of knowledge of English and Business Administration. Alternative enrolment Applicants who, following their first degree, have completed at least five years of professional work at at least 80 percent of a full-time equivalent in the operational functions of Marketing, Distribution or Product Management, may apply for the recognition of modules from the 1st subject-related semester. In order for the modules to be recognised, applicants must submit a qualified certificate from their employer(s), the end of the fifth year of employment not being more than two years ago.
