Target group
The Master (Master of Science) degree course aims to offer students an in-depth insight into mathematics research topics and therefore also convey the necessary conceptual skills for a following doctorate. At the same time, students gain the necessary professional and personal qualifications for management positions. In addition to the requirements specified above, graduates should have the following competencies: knowledge of the chief mathematical disciplines, the associated methodical basis and interrelationships, study of current research literature, ability to represent and tackle mathematical problems in a scientific manner within the framework of a Master's thesis, -qualification for independent work in industry and economic theory, - ability to work as an academic assistant or collaborator in academic or public institutions, - preparation for a doctorate in or outside Germany.
