The Master's degree course in Media Informatics furthers knowledge and abilities in the field of Digital Media Production and the development of multimedia applications. It qualifies the students to successfully deal with challenging issues using the methods used in Media Informatics.The in-depth technical knowledge gained in the course helps in the development of intelligent solutions which take into account technical, software-ergonomic and design aspects.Media Informatics qualifies you in particular for the development of interactive multimedia systems. This focus opens up particularly attractive options within the varied professional fields of Media Informatics. The degree course strengthens skills in analysis, design, implementation and project management through a promising combination of subjects in Computer Science, e.g. Machine Learning, Sustainable Software Engineering, Knowledge Management and Professional Media Practice (Photography, Image Processing, Video Film Production, 3D Computer Animation). This part of the degree course is especially focussed on the conception and production of interactive media. The Master's degree course in Media Informatics qualifies students for demanding expert and management tasks in the IT and media sector.The career prospects of a media scientist with the Master's degree are excellent.
Admission requirements
- Sufficient focus on Information Engineering or Engineering/Natural Sciences in the university degree for which evidence is provided\; The Master's course builds on a Bachelor's degree course with 7 semesters. Students from a course with a standard period of study of 6 semesters can enter the Master's course in Media Informatics without a problem. They will acquire an additional 30 ECTS credit points in addition to the optional required subjects and practical projects, which are determined together with the Admissions Committee. - Minimum overall grade of 2.5 - Proof of sufficient German language skills
