Intercultural German-French Studies / Études interculturales franco-allemandes Eberhard Karls University Tübingen
Overview and admission
Study Type
graduate
Admission semester
Winter Semester only
Area of study
Intercultural Studies
Target group
The Master's degree course looks at German-French interculturalism in various cultural disciplines: language, literature, history of knowledge and philosophy. The dual programme focuses on the common cultural space between the two countries. One of the special features of the degree course is its high level of interdisciplinarity: it covers German Studies, Romance Studies, Linguistics and Comparative Studies. But students can also specialise in topics of German-French cultural transfer in the neighbouring sciences such as Philosophy, History, Art History, Political Science and – as a unique feature in Tübingen – Empirical Cultural Studies. Between the two academic years, students complete a work placement in Germany or France, which, in addition to the academic landscape of both countries, opens up other professional fields to them.
