Admission requirements
To be admitted to the course, proof must be provided of a pre-study work placement amounting to 6 weeks of full-time employment or, in exceptional cases, a part-time work placement of 12 weeks duration with at least 19 working hours a week in extracurricular facilities for the education and care of children aged 0-14 and in publicly- or privately-run family support facilities. The preliminary internship must be completed and proven no later than the beginning of the 3rd semester. The following areas of employment are recognised as a work placement: day nurseries, family centres, full-day elementary schools, child and youth work facilities and family support centres. Places for the Bachelor’s in Pedagogy of the Childhood and Family Education are allocated at the HS Düsseldorf in the context of the dialogue-oriented service procedure of the Foundation for University Admission (hochschulstart.de).
