Annotation
The study of the subject Computer Science in the degree course Teacher Qualification for Grammar Schools is oriented towards the requirements of practical Computer Science teaching at grammar schools. The essential ways of thinking in computer science required for teaching at grammar schools are taught and students learn how to apply computer science methods and procedures in an appropriate way. The university programme focuses on the fundamentals and consolidated sub-areas, but also on new developments in computer science. This also includes knowledge for the assessment of computer equipment and the planning of computer use in schools from a pedagogical point of view as well as the didactic preparation of computer science-specific content and its communication in the classroom. The Computer Science degree course takes into account the fundamental subjects, mindsets and methods of computer science. This includes in-depth basic training in programming, algorithms and data structures, concepts of programming languages and databases as well as an introduction to mathematical principles and theoretical computer science. In the compulsory elective area, students can select their own specialisations. Furthermore, the latest developments and their assessment as well as questions about the social impact of technology and technology development will be addressed in the course.
