Annotation
The study of the subject Mathematics in the degree programme Teacher qualification at the level of grammar schools is oriented towards the requirements of the practice of teaching Mathematics at grammar schools. The essential ways of thinking in mathematics required for the teaching profession at grammar schools are taught and students are taught to apply mathematical methods and procedures in an appropriate way. University education focuses on the didactic preparation of mathematical subject content and its communication in the classroom. Students are to be qualified on the basis of the acquired competences, i.e., knowledge, qualifications and attitudes, for academic work and socially responsible practice of the teaching profession. This university education is intended to provide prospective teachers with job-related qualifications in order to analyse, plan, design and reflect pedagogical processes in Mathematics teaching lessons at school.
