Annotation
Who does not shop online? Online business continues to grow. Shopping via mobile apps or social media channels such as YouTube is not uncommon. But what is behind an online shop? What products or services are sold there? Who are the customers? Who are the sellers? How does online trading work? Online trade is only a small portion of e-commerce. Online communication, marketing and distribution and commercialisation, payment processes, marketing and design are further key components. Along the digital purchasing process, students deal with all important topics and thus become experts. E-commerce combines business administration (controlling, logistics, finances) and (social media) marketing with computer science and web technologies. The degree course at the Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences is one of the few, especially in western Germany, that is relevant to the profession and explicitly designed for online trade and commerce.
