Minor subject in the combination Bachelor's degree course - only possible in combination with a major subject Standard period of study: 6 or 8 semesters (depending on combination) The degree depends on the major subject chosen. Further information on the structure of the combination Bachelor's degree course can be found here: https://www.uni-marburg.de/de/studium/studieninteressierte/studienmoeglichkeiten/kombibachelor In the minor subject "Gender Studies and Feminist Sciences", you acquire basic specialist knowledge of gender studies and the ability to conduct independent scientific work, including the corresponding methods. The minor subject provides knowledge of the fundamentals, central terms, theories and methods of gender studies. The students are thus enabled to grasp and systematically analyse gender relations in history and the present, their justifications, their manifestations, media representations and their transformation, as well as the problems, conflicts and inequalities that arise from them, in a gender-critical reflection. The degree course subject also teaches the interdisciplinary competence to expand and critically reflect on knowledge from your main subject through perspectives from gender studies. This gives you the opportunity to examine gender research from the perspective of different disciplines. You can choose from the Social Sciences, Education, Physical Education and Sports Science, North American Studies, Theology and Religious Studies, Cultural and Literary Studies, as well as History. An integral part of the degree course is the MarSkills programme, in which you acquire attractive and future-oriented key skills (see https://www.uni-marburg.de/de/fb09/igs/arbeitsgruppen/sprechwissenschaft/marskills/was-ist-marskills
