Social work acts at the interface between the individual and society and aims to prevent and overcome social problems. The Bachelor's degree course "Social Work (BA)" is an undergraduate degree course that offers an academically sound and at the same time practice-oriented education. In addition to the professionally qualifying certificate of academic degree "Social Work (BA)", it leads to state recognition as a social worker. Graduates are qualified to work as a social worker/social educator in various fields of social work with various target groups.

Admission requirements
For enrolment in the Bachelor's degree course in Social Work, you need a higher education entrance qualification in accordance with Section 9 of the Brandenburg Higher Education Act (BbgHG). This includes proof of one of the following qualifications: - general or subject-specific higher education entrance qualification (allgemeine or fachgebundene Hochschulreife), - entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences (Fachhochschulreife) or subject-specific entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences (fachgebundene Fachhochschulreife), - a professionally qualifying certificate of academic degree, - an academic degree from a technical college as defined by Section 28 of the Brandenburg School Act (BbgSchulG), - a secondary school level I certificate or an equivalent certificate and completed vocational training relevant to the intended course of study with at least two years of professional experience, or - another qualification specified in Section 9 (2) and (3) of the Brandenburg Higher Education Act (BbgHG).
