Major subject in combination Bachelor's degree course - only possible in combination with one or two minor subjects Standard period of study: 6 or 8 semesters (depending on combination) Further information on the structure of the combination Bachelor's degree course can be found here: https://www.uni-marburg.de/de/studium/studieninteressierte/studienmoeglichkeiten/kombibachelor Students of the major subject Economics acquire fundamental specialist knowledge, in particular of economic theories and analysis methods, which enable them to work independently and scientifically on defined problem areas. You will learn to systematically analyse economic mechanisms, institutions and governance structures and how to adopt an economic perspective on decision-making structures and processes. In Marburg, special attention is paid to the importance of institutions for the economy and you are given an overview of the structures on which the decisions of economic actors (in companies or public institutions) are based. You will also learn to develop options for action and decision-making and to reflect on them and present your own findings in oral and written form in a way that is appropriate for the target group. The courses are internationally oriented and there are courses in English, which prepares you for the increasing internationality of professional practice. The integration of a voluntary semester abroad into the course of study is strongly supported. An integral part of the degree course is the MarSkills programme, in which you acquire attractive and future-oriented key skills (see https://www.uni-marburg.de/de/fb09/igs/arbeitsgruppen/sprechwissenschaft/marskills/was-ist-marskills).
