With the help of the study programme in Computer Science (B.Sc.) you will become a specialist in general computer science with us. The knowledge and skills you gain will make you a sought-after expert for information processing in industry and science. In both theoretical and practical computer science, you will acquire the necessary core competencies that will make you indispensable later in the working world. All of these areas await our students in practical computer science: Programming Algorithms and Data Structures Software Engineering Database Systems Data management systems This application knowledge is combined with the basics of theoretical computer science, thus sharpening your profile and skill set for IT systems, software and their creation. Thanks to the integrated project workshop, you will already learn how to easily put what you have learned into practice in the first three semesters. You will work in the following fields: Operating systems, networks and software technologies Analysis of heterogeneous IT landscapes using information technology methods, tools and systems Evaluation and integration of new systems under legal requirements Interdisciplinary team and management tasks with data analysts, economists, mathematicians, natural scientists or engineers Development, application & marketing and distribution Thanks to the additionally acquired interface competence with business studies and engineering sciences, our students will quite simply become the IT specialists of tomorrow. Admission requirements
In order to be able to enrol in the Computer Science (B.Sc.) programme, you need a general higher education entrance qualification, a subject-related higher education entrance qualification or a higher education entrance qualification (or a comparable higher education entrance qualification pursuant to the Baden-Württemberg Higher Education Act). For example, professional school qualification or HWK and IHK further education in combination with a counselling interview also entitle students to a course of study. We also recommend a sound knowledge of mathematics at the level of the higher education entrance qualification and knowledge of English at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The recommended previous knowledge can be acquired during the preparatory course.
