Annotation
The degree course "European Studies: Modern History” deals with the Modern History of Europe. In addition to looking into the past of European History, it is also about the current perception of Europe in the world. Students in this subject also learn about methodological approaches to historical issues, such as the critical analysis of sources and research texts. Practical exercises include introductions to didactics of history or archive and museum management. The historical expertise enables a direct entry into the job market, but also opens up access to subsequent Master's programmes. The interdisciplinary core area of the course deals with European interdependencies. Historical, legal, cultural and linguistic basic knowledge enables the students to independently classify and reflect on complex issues in Europe. Internationality and practical relevance also play an important role: learning European foreign languages, a semester abroad and an internship related to Europe are compulsory components of the course.
