The Bachelor’s in Sports Science is especially aimed at people who are interested in sport and want to explore and consolidate their methodological and scientific background beyond practical work. The programme is application-oriented and guarantees a broad, academically sound education, in which sports science as a cross-sectional science with its disciplines (such as training science, sports medicine, sports psychology, biomechanics) is discussed intensively for a variety of applications. The Bachelor’s in Sports Science offers students an opportunity to qualify within their professional field and to sharpen their personal profile. It deals with current topics and developments in sports science and offers graduates access to an academic career in the field of sports science.
Admission requirements
- Entitlement to study in accordance with Section 37 of the Hamburg Higher Education Act (HmbHG) or - Subject-related entitlement to study in accordance with Section 38 of the Hamburg Higher Education Act - Evidence of sporting aptitude by way of one of the following criteria: - Evidence of a successfully passed sports aptitude test* (state or MSH) - Proof of completion of the school subject Sport in an upper secondary school advanced programme - Proof of a current or past team membership in competitive sports - Evidence of swimming ability by means of one of the following badges: - German Youth Swimming Badge (Deutscher Jugendschwimmpass); Age under 18 years) in silver or higher - German Swimming Badge (Deutscher Schwimmpass; Minimum age 18 years) in silver or higher
