Annotation
The study of English as a subject in the degree programme Teaching Qualification for Grammar Schools is oriented towards the requirements of the practice of teaching English at grammar schools. The programme will impart the necessary subject-specific and didactic basics necessary for the practice of the teaching profession at grammar schools and allow for first experiences in school teaching practice under academic guidance. On the basis of the acquired competences as well as knowledge, qualifications and attitudes, students are to be qualified for academic work and socially responsible practice of the teaching profession. This university education is intended to provide prospective teachers with job-related qualifications in order to analyse, plan, design and reflect pedagogical processes in teaching English lessons at school. Research focuses The subject English takes into account English linguistics and literary studies (subject-specific studies) as well as foreign language didactics (subject-specific didactics) and language practice. The area of subject didactics includes the areas of foreign language acquisition as well as literature and culture didactics.
