Annotation
The University Mainz offers the Bachelor's degree course starting in the fifth subject-related semester or the Master of Education exclusively for Teaching Qualification (Grammar Schools). The teaching qualification Philosophy can only be studied in combination with the subject French/Lettres modernes in the German-French degree course. (see also https://www.studium.uni-mainz.de/internationale-studienprogramme/). It is recommended to commence studies in the winter semester. Prospective students can familiarise themselves with the subject during a taster day (www.studium.uni-mainz.de/schnuppertage).

Admission requirements
A requirement for admission is the proof of knowledge of French with at least five years of completed school education and a minimum grade of 'Sufficient' or 5 points, or a certificate demonstrating advanced knowledge of French equivalent to B2 level within the Common European Framework of Reference, proven by a language test or the Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue Française (DELF B2). Proof of command of French must also be submitted in the form of a higher education entrance qualification completed at a French-speaking school, or an Abi-Bac (simultaneous acquisition of the general higher education entrance qualification [Abitur], and French baccalauréat [bac]) (for additional requirements, see examination regulations at www.uni-mainz.de/studlehr/ordnungen). The teaching qualification subject Philosophy can only be studied in combination with the subject French/Lettres modernes in the German-French degree course.
