Annotation
In this course, you deal with the opportunities and dangers of political developments such as Brexit, populism, the relevance of Shakespeare and his contemporaries in his and our times, with contemporary fantasy literature, with crime novels, with the literature and culture of the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada and the United States. Contemporary cultural phenomena such as the importance of TV series, fake news, the #BlackLivesMatter and the #MeToo debates and questions of increasing technology (in and through the media) are as much part of your study program as the question of the role of language in politics and society. In summary: You will receive intensive practical language, literary, cultural and linguistic training. Of course you also have the opportunity to spend part of your studies at one of our numerous partner universities in the English-speaking world. We would be happy to assist you with your selection and preparation.
