The Bachelor's degree course in Computer Science provides a broad basic knowledge as well as basic and subject-specific knowledge and leads to the first professionally qualifying academic degree. The aim is to impart knowledge that is capable of performing typical activities of a computer scientist and is necessary for the practical implementation in the application, research and development of information and communication systems. The relevant concepts, methods, procedures and models are taught in the course. These are supplemented by professionally relevant key competencies and a targeted entry into university degree course in the first semester. The degree course covers the entire spectrum of computer science. The first four semesters are characterised by successive basic courses in practical, technical and theoretical computer science as well as mathematics relevant to computer scientists. A wide range of supplementary required elective courses allows students to tailor their studies to their individual needs, including their final thesis. A large proportion of the degree courses are accompanied by placements in our laboratories and by independent student teamwork. This ensures constant direct contact between students and lecturers.
