Find your favourite place as you stroll through the winding alleyways.

Flora, the goddess of horticulture, is a landmark of the city - no wonder Fulda is considered a city of gardens.

Fulda is known for its urban architecture: here you can admire picturesque half-timbered houses and impressive baroque buildings while strolling through the old town. One of the largest connected baroque neighbourhoods in Germany is also located right here. Within a few minutes’ walk from the higher education institutions, you can reach the city's architectural highlights, including the Stadtschloss city palace: Between classes on warm days, you can relax in the palace park, picnic with friends, study and simply enjoy the green oasis.

If you’d rather spend time in the lively city centre, you can be there in no time. Here you will find restaurants, cafés and numerous shops – and not only chain stores. For bars and clubs, many students like to go to the old part of town, which is also home to the so-called Bermuda Triangle with the highest density of bars in the city. Whether classically stylish, with a modern ambience or with more of a rustic pub atmosphere, you're sure to find something to your taste in the Bermuda Triangle. And if you want to get a little wilder: especially during the Altstadtfest, many people get together in the Bermuda Triangle to celebrate with live music and good drinks.

Just like in many other cities, things get particularly colourful here in the summer: whether it's a city festival, a gourmet or a wine festival, a summer cinema event or a kite festival, the various events offer a wide range of entertainment. Incidentally, Fulda is also a carnival stronghold - the "Fuldaer Fastnacht" (in the local dialect "Fulder Foaset") is celebrated at the beginning of the year.

And if you prefer to be out and about in nature, you can quickly reach the mountain range of the Rhön or the Vogelsberg. There are various hiking and cycling routes with different levels of difficulty - whether you want to go for a walk or really work out, you're sure to find something. For a little more action, you can also learn to paraglide or climb here!

Tip: Would you like to admire the starry sky close to the city without too much light pollution? Whether a picnic under the stars or an astronomical guided tour at night - in the Rhön Star Park you can experience the night sky in a special way.
